If you or your child are considering learning an instrument, a common dilemma is to decide whether to take up the cello or the piano. Which of the two is the harder to learn and play?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cello is considered harder to learn because of the challenging bowing technique and the fact the cello has no fixed keys to determine pitch. As a fixed-pitch instrument with a keyboard, the piano is easier to learn initially, but later requires complex coordination and musical skills. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many cellists start their music education with piano lessons. As a result, they started the cello at an older age as the piano. Nevertheless, most of them agree that even though they were older, the cello was still harder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
